Someday Prayer

I have a burden on my heart Lord

which will not go away

until my first-born looks to you

to lead him day by day.

He has within his heart of gold

a love which shows you're there,

a love he gives to others

so all will know he cares.

But even though you live therein,

he listens not to your call.

His heart is heavy and worried,

and around it he's built a great wall.

I hope someday for a breakthrough.

I hope someday he will hear.

I hope someday he will open his heart

to your call which will ease all his fears.

So, if faith is the key and his heart is the lock,

then please take my key and use it.

If his key is missing dear Lord,

take my faith and please don't refuse it!

If I can accept him just as he is

and have faith that you can as well,

then please open his heart to your message

and all of his doubts please dispel.

He's a son any mother would be proud to embrace.

Don't judge him too harshly I pray.

He just needs your Light to surround him,

and your son to show him the way.
