In The Shadow of The Cross

From the cradle to the grave
was just a few short years.
From virgin birth to cross,
he came to allay our fears.

He took our sins upon his back,
this God, the Son of Man.
From womb to Calvary’s road,
his life and death were planned.

He grew from babe to man
in the shadow of the cross,
sacrificed by his father
that we not suffer loss.

As a baby in the manger,
he had you upon his mind
and lived his so short life
that you and I might find

Eternal. life and glory in the
blood which stained his feet,
that our sin might fall away
like the tears upon his cheeks.

He tasted death for everyone,
for every one of us he died
that we might one day come to him
and in his house abide.

From the cradle to the grave
was just a few short years.
From his virgin birth to cross,
he came to allay our fears.
