When I woke up this mornin' I was feelin' kinda bad.
Yeah, when I woke up this mornin' I was feelin' very bad.
I was feelin' like an ol' man, sure not feelin' like no lad!

My head was achin' Jesus... It sure was achin' Lord.
Oh, my head was achin' Jesus... poundin' - poundin' - poundin' Lord.
Ain't no med'cin out there Jesus that this poor man can afford!

Couldn't hardly rise from that bed... my back so stiff and sore.
Yeah that bed it had me Jesus... my back so stiff and sore.
My back it sure was hurtin', like it ain't never hurt before!

Might still need you to help me... Give this ol' man your hand.
Come on 'round 'n help me Baby... Give this ol' man your hand.
Put down that dish rag Baby and leave those pots and pans!

Now if I should stumble Baby, dont' you go feelin' sad.
Lord I just might stumble Baby, but don't you go feelin' sad.
I'm just feelin' like an ol' man, sure not feelin' like no lad!

Art'ritis in my joints now, bursitis in my hips.
Got that 'ritis-'sitis problem from my neck down to my hips.
But I still need you Baby.  Need your arms and need your lips!

I know there's young men waitin'... They been circlin' round our door.
Yeah, dem young men they been waitin', circlin' 'round and 'round our door.
They can see how much you're missin' and they know you're wantin' more!

Got dem ol' man blues tonight Lord, and I'm feelin' kinda bad.
Yeah, got dem ol' man blues tonight Lord... really feelin' awful bad.
'Cause she think I'm just an ol' man... and she really wants a lad!
