How could I have known
The pleasure of love's delights
Before you appeared?

Narrow was my view
And clouded was my vision.
You enlightened me.

Like fledgling sparrows
Newly fallen from the nest
We struggle to fly

With program in hand
We eagerly await the
Overture to love

Lilting melody
And then two souls pirouette
Joining love's ballet

Outstretched, open arms
Beckon me onto pathways
Not yet tread upon.

She came, tip-toeing
Silently into the night,
Innocence unveiled.

Unsure of her steps,
Unsure of this ritual
We call wedding night.

I am yours at last
Mold me, teach me to please you
Show me how to love

Strawberries and cream
Sweet fruit of passion's melding
Addictive dessert

Our minds and bodies
Independently active
Yet joined as one life

Radiant embers
Passion's fire burns brightly now
Stoked by our desire

Where you have touched me
Your tender imprint remains.
I am yours to mold.

Will you know the ones
I meant for your eyes only?
Read them again Love.

Among all the fish
Enticed to my baited hook
You alone were freed.

Afraid to hold you
Afraid to hurt you, hook you,
Would not reel you in.

Just to watch you swim
Was never enough for me
I longed to dive in.

Total emersion
In you, in your smile, your eyes
Drowning, yet alive!

Now and then daydreams
Take me out upon the waves
But truth brings me back.

Yesterday is gone
While today's petals unfurl
Tomorrow awaits

Discovering you
Inch by warm, sensuous inch
Mapping destiny

Walking hand in hand
Heart touching heart tenderly
In tune with each other

My heart's a-flutter
On golden gossamer wings
Gliding on your love

"A sight for sore eyes!"
my old Mama would have said
wickedly grinning

Salty, bittersweet
The taste of love is varied
As is the menu

Your breath awakens
Youthful desire and longing
In this aging heart

But for vicious time
I would be eternally young
And forever yours

Timidly I touch
The strength of your arousal
My heart skips a beat

Caressing my thigh
Your hand moves ever upward
Fingers probe moist warmth

Time works against us
We flee before its progress
Our passion denied

As you walk away
Your words echo back sweetly
"I love you... I do"

Not expecting love,
I was taken by surprise
When it drifted in

Skillfully applied,
A feather quill can create
Far more than just script

Sweat drips from your chin
To trickle down between breasts
Equally afire

Your touch electrifies.
A willing participant,
I surge with current

Sparks fly between us
Smoldering embers ignite
Our raging fire storm

A glance, our eyes meet
Then lock in passion's embrace
Revealing our love

A touch, a tingle
I love your gentle probing
Up and down my back

Rising, falling, still
Your breath and mine in rhythm
We are one at last

Bodies glistening
Recovering and released
Relaxed and sated

Jealous eyes don't stray
But stay fixed on just one goal,
Love's total control

Love can be acrid,
Its youthful innocence doused
With acid intent

Retching now I hate
This thing which makes me vomit
Yet love too takes hold

My abdomen swells
With each passing month of you
Growing within me

A movement there... yes!
I can feel you now... alive...
You've made yourself known

An elbow jabbing
Moving across my belly
As you turn again

I cannot slump now
Must sit erect, take short breaths
You beneath my ribs

Carrots, dill pickles
Shaved ice and Milky Way bars
Always hungry now

Unbearable pain
Made bearable by your birth
Fades quickly from mind.

I have a new love.
Devoted to you I learn
To be a mother.

Fatherhood is new
Alien, misunderstood
Not your cup of tea.

You long for freedom
From its choking restrictions
Its constant demands

Have I been so blind
That I somehow did not see
The flower wilting?

Like smoke in my eyes
Love clouded my vision then
But now, a clear view

Petals dropping now
Falling from the stem of love
Earthward into crumbling dust

Together again
Wondering why we parted,
Then remembering.
