Ghosts of Love

Long ago and far away I walked a wind-swept beach.
I watched the tides go in and out and seagulls soar to reach
a blue horizon drifiting there beyong the farthest wave.
I felt the wamth of summer wind brush lightly 'cross my face.
I heard your voice and quickly turned - My mind began to race,
finding anew the hours we'd shared, the memories I'd cherished.
But though I yearned to see you there, my eyes were filled with tears,
for ghosts of love were all I found floating 'cross the years.
In sea foam mist they quickly formed, then vanished once again.
