Emmaus Walk

Each person walks a path in life pre-designed by God,
a path we need to follow all our lives.
Sometimes we wander far off course by choices that we make,
and it’s all that we can do to just survive.
But in the far off reaches of our being
there’s a compass that will always bring us back.
A compass that He called the Holy Spirit
which will help us find the way to stay on track.
Sometimes we need a place to just relax –
to take a peaceful moment for ourselves,
A moment just for quiet contemplation
as into our inner thoughts we slowly delve,
Some time to walk beside our Lord and Master,
to listen as He offers His advice,
Some time to praise and truly thank Him
for saving us through His Son’s sacrifice.
As He walked beside His own along the Emmaus road,
so you must walk with him to remain strong.
As they went forth from there to bear His witness,
so you must also sing His holy song.
You will gain a new and deeper understanding
of all that He requires of those He calls.
And as you travel through today’s uncertain world
may you share the Love you found with one and all!
